“Expedite the process by taking our Texas Online LTC class”
The Texas License to Carry (LTC) is a permit issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) that allows the holder to carry a concealed handgun in public. To be eligible for an LTC, you must be at least 21 years old, a legal resident of Texas, and have not been convicted of a felony or certain other crimes. You must also complete a training course and pass a written exam and shooting proficiency test.
To apply for an LTC, create an account on the DPS website, fill out the online application and pay the application fee. Then schedule an appointment for fingerprinting.
After you have submitted your application and fingerprints, complete the training course with In Focus Training (we are a certified provider). The course must cover the following topics:
- Laws that relate to Weapons and the Use of Deadly Force
- Handgun Use and Safety
- Non-violent dispute resolution
- Safe Storage
Complete your training course with the written exam. The written exam will cover the material that was covered in the training course. This course can be done either in person or online. For the online course, please follow the link below (Online LTC will be four hours in length). The shooting proficiency test will require you to demonstrate your ability to safely and accurately fire a handgun.
If you pass the written exam and shooting proficiency test, you will be issued an LTC. The LTC is valid for five years. You can renew your LTC online or by mail.

“Anthony is a great instructor. He took the time to make sure I was completely comfortable with the process and elaborated on every question or concern I had. Really opens your eyes beyond the generic elements you expect to learn about your weapon and explains practical self defense tactics that you could face in the real world. Very nice guy! I couldn’t be happier with my choice of instructor.”
