Texas LTC Range Instruction and Proficiency Test

The LTC Range Instruction and Proficiency Test is a test you must pass to obtain your Texas License to Carry (LTC). The test has two parts: a range instruction portion and a shooting qualification.

The range instruction portion is typically 1-2 hours long and covers topics such as:

• Gun safety
• Proper handgun handling
• Range commands
• The course of fire

The shooting qualification is a 50-round course of fire that is shot at a B-27 target. The course of fire is as follows:

• 20 rounds from 3 yards
• 20 rounds from 7 yards
• 10 rounds from 15 yards

A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the shooting qualification.

Here are some tips for passing the Texas LTC Range Instruction Proficiency Test:

• Practice shooting at different distances before taking the test.
• Make sure you are familiar with the range commands.
• Listen carefully to the instructions of your instructor.
• Be safe and follow all gun safety rules.

Online Texas LTC Class

In Focus Training Offers the approved Online Texas LTC Class.

You will need to take the 4 hour class in addition to the range instruction and proficiency demonstration. If you have not taken the 4 hour class yet, you can take it online.
